Are your cows grass-fed?

We get this question a lot, and it’s an important one! Our cows graze in our pastures during Vermont’s warmer months, and eat the hay we’ve harvested during the colder months. Their diet is supplemented with organic grain year round.

Is your raw milk cheese really raw?

The guidelines for labeling cheese as “raw” are very loose – technically, raw cheese is anything that has not been legally pasteurized. We pride ourselves in using truly raw milk in our raw milk cheddars. We do not heat the milk past 102 degrees (the same as the temperature of the milk at the time of milking).

Can I watch the cheese being made?

Our cheese is made 2 to 3 times a week, and we love it when visitors stop by! Please call us at 802-728-4700 to get our cheese making schedule.

Are any of your products Vegan or Vegetarian-friendly?

All of our cheeses use organic cow’s milk and are not vegan, but they are all vegetarian friendly! We use only vegetable-rennet in our cheeses.

Are your cheeses gluten free?

Yes! Though our products are not certifed gluten-free, all of our organic ingredients are free of gluten. And no gluten ever enters our cheese room, so cross contimination isn’t possible.
